Medical Lab Services in High Demand

The United States is currently experiencing a shortage in many healthcare sectors, but one that is often not considered is medical lab services.  Medical lab technicians are responsible for analyzing tissues, body fluids, and blood, which helps physicians to manage and diagnose all kinds of diseases and health conditions.  However, according to an infographic by the University of Cincinnati, there just aren’t enough people signing up for, and graduating from, NAACLS accredited medical laboratory scientist programs.

The states where medical lab technicians are most in demand include Pennsylvania, New York, California and Texas – all states that offer a high quality of living and good pay.  It is hoped that many more young people will consider enrolling on an online bachelor of science degree in medical laboratory science degree program to help combat this shortage.
