At some point or another, you may have forgotten your soap, or you have a friend over the may have done the same. It may be tempting to share with them, but there are certain hygiene products that you should never share with others. This is due to bacteria as well as other issues that you do not want to deal with. It is important to keep these 6 things to yourself and not to share with others.

6 Hygiene Product You Should Never Share With ANYONE

1. Soap

It is important that you never share your bar soap with anyone but yourself. If you share your soap, you put yourself at risk for getting infections like MRSA. MRSA is a flesh-eating bacteria that can cause serious health issues and even death. You might think that you’re okay with soap because of its antibacterial properties. However, while soap does minimize germ contamination, it does not get everything. If you want to use a soap that you can share, use liquid soap.

2. Antiperspirant

Antiperspirants will only slow your sweating down. It will not kill any germs that might get on to the stick. There is a slight chance of infection if you share antiperspirants, and you will also transfer hair particles and dead skin. It is best to use only your own antiperspirant and not share with anyone.

3. Razors

Razors should only be used by one individual. It is imperative to never share your razor with anyone, no matter how close you are that person. Razors can contribute to the transmission of HIV, and hepatitis types including B and C. It can also cause the transfer of fungal infections like ringworm. This is one of the most important hygiene products that you should only use yourself.

4. Towels

If you share a towel with someone who has pink eye, you run the risk of contracting that from the towel. This is due to the bacteria hanging on the towel can make contact with your skin and give you pink eye. You are also at risk of gonorrhea from using a towel that someone else used that has the STD. This is why it is so imperative to remember which towel you are using especially if you have roommates or you are on vacation.

5. Toothbrushes

Not many people would think about sharing their toothbrush, but it does happen. You may be tempted to share a toothbrush with your partner, even that should not be done. Sharing toothbrushes allow for the transmission of blood-borne infections as well as increasing the level of bacteria in your mouth. It is a wise idea to only use your own toothbrush. If you’re going to be around roommates or other people, it is an even better idea to have a cover for your toothbrush.

6. Nail Clippers

Do you like the idea of having nail fungus? Of course not, this is why you should never share your nail clippers. Nail clippers can spread bacteria, especially if the skin is clipped while cutting the nails. Nail clippers also increase the risk of exposure to blood-borne pathogens. If your roommate or friend asks to borrow your nail clippers, suggest they get their own pair or go out for a manicure.

Making sure that you do not share these 6 hygiene products will help to ensure that your health is the best it can be. You’re not only protecting your health, but you are also protecting the health of your friends and your roommates.
