5 Moves To Tone Your Legs And Thighs

Want to wear skirts and shorts this summer to show off toned legs?

Legs 1

Here are 5 moves that will tone your legs and thighs in a short time. Try them at home or outside in the warm weather and show off your toned legs:

1. Plie Squat
Stand with your legs about 6 inches apart, toes pointing outward. Keep your shoulders and chest straight and hands at your waist or joined in front of your chest. Squat as low as is comfortable, slowly return to standing, repeat 5 or 6 times in 30 seconds. Make sure your weight is on your heels, this will activate your legs’ muscles as you go up and down.

2. Side Step and Squat
Stand up straight with hands joined at your chest and take a wide step to your left. Then go down from the middle into a squat position, then come back up to start, try the same move to the right. This is one squat, repeat 10-15 times.

3. Scissor Kick
Lie down on a yoga mat using your hands to support your back by keeping them below your hips, this is going to use your lower abdominal strength. Lift your legs pointing toes outward. Rest your head on the floor, do not try to look at your legs. Move your legs like scissors – back and forth. Cross your legs and repeat 10-15 times. The more you keep your toes pointed outward, the more you will be using inner thigh muscles.

4. Inner Thigh Squeeze
You can do this move anytime, even before getting out of bed. You will need a small pillow, lie down with your knees bent at 90 degrees, place the pillow between your lower legs and squeeze the pillow, squeeze for about 3 seconds, pause and release. Ensure your feet don’t touch each other. Repeat 10-15 times.

5. Bridges With Knees Together
Lie down on your back with knees bent. Hold a pillow between your knees, lift your hips, squeeze your knees together, and lower your buttocks. Repeat 10-15 times to help tone your thighs and legs.
