Yay Fall!!!

I just love fall, it’s my favorite season. Usually the days are still nice and the nights are cool and crisp, I can start pulling out my favorite sweaters, I love sweaters. It makes me think of tailgate parties, bonfires, beautiful rich colors, and fun.

As a kid I loved back to school time so much, fresh papers and folders and pencils. I loved meeting my new teacher, seeing old friends, learning my new schedule, covering all my books with brown paper bags or freebie book covers from local stores, we always turned them to the white side and decorated our books with drawings and hearts and silly things girls do!

I loved hiking in the Hills with my best friend, I still love going for as much as I am able, the smell of the air is intoxicating, the leaves are so beautiful, everything feels different. It’s much cooler and more comfortable to wander around and take pictures.

I am hoping we get some moisture soon so that the fire ban is lifted, I love a roaring bonfire and chatting with friends. I also love a fireplace or pellet stove or whatever, the fire is the important thing, nothing better after being chilled to the bone outside than coming inside to a toasty warm fire, steamy delicious soup, and hot tea or hot chocolate.

I love rainy fall days smelling the leaves and grass, seeing leaves fall, squirrels getting fat and stocked up for winter, seeing the summer’s bounty at local farmer’s markets and in the fields. I love going to the farmer’s market and seeing the produce, then searching for new recipes, fall is also a great time to try new foods, soups and stews, different spices, things with pumpkin and squash, so yummy!

Then the clothes, boots, sweaters, jackets, jeans, I could go on and on, if you take a glance at my closet you can see I like autumnal colors the best, all my clothes are reds, browns, greens, a little purple and gold in there, lovely.

I am so glad it’s fall, am planning fall activities with my sister’s kids, like caramel apples and pumpkin decorating, enjoy fall yourself, and, if you get a chance, go jump in a pile of leaves!!
