This Is What Will Happen To You If You Stop Using Deodorant For Couple of Weeks

Deodorants and antiperspirants are used widely by many Americans. Go to any cosmetic store or big-brand pharmacy and you’ll find the most popular ones like Old Spice, Suave, Secret, and Dove just to name a few. What most people don’t know, just like nearly all products, is that these popular brands tend to use very harmful ingredients in their deodorants.

Many of the regular brands contain aluminum, propylene glycol, parabens, and triclosan. These ingredients have been speculated to cause cancer and damage to the liver and heart, and triclosan was even found to be classified as a pesticide by the FDA.

One of the main concerns for a lot of people is the connection between these top brand deordorants and cancer. Aluminum, which is the most active ingredient in antiperspirants, blocks sweat glands and can be absorbed by the skin and then starts to act like a hormone called estrogen which can lead to the growth of breast cancer cells.

Parabens are also something to watch out for, not just in deodorants but in nearly all health care products. Parabens are a type of preservative that can be easily absorbed by our skin and has been thought to lead to different forms of hormonal cancers.

This sort of information may turn people away from using any sort of deodorant ever again. There have been many that swear that they have never had to use it. But, does this approach work for everyone? Not using deodorant on a hot summer week might not be the best idea for some people, but there are definitely some benefits to it.

After about two or three days, most people will start to smell, which will probably call for more frequent showers. Sure, you’ll probably start sweating way more than you thought was possible, and you are more likely to stink due to to the bacteria that builds up that causes B.O., but your pores will feel like they will start to breath. There will be no more stains on your white shirts. The truth of the matter is, as long as you shower often, most people won’t smell that bad.

Now, for those that can’t seem to avoid looking like they just got out of a shower 24/7, there are natural alternatives.
Here’s a simple recipe to a homemade deodorant that’s relatively cheap:

Ingredients:
-1/4 cup of baking soda
-1/4 cup of arrow root powder or corn starch
-5 tablespoons of coconut oil

Directions:
-Start by putting the baking soda and arrowroot/con starch into a bowl and mix it well. After it’s been mixed thoroughly, add the coconut oil and mix until it becomes pasty. Put it into a container and it will start to harden and will become ready for use. Putting it into a closed container will harden it if you don’t want it to be so gooey.
