Should I Let My Child Have Energy Drinks?

First begin with what is an energy drink exactly, it is a beverage that contains some form of legal stimulant and vitamins which are supposed to give consumers a short term boost in energy, due to some magic ingredients, known as active ingredients we all know: sugar and caffeine, so basically what they cause is no more than a sugar rush.

Higher dosages can lead to increased blood pressure, heart palpitations, diarrhea, increased urination, dizziness, irritability, nausea, nervousness, and jitters. Allergic reactions can include rash, hives, itching, difficulty breathing, tightness in the chest, swelling of the mouth, face, lips, or tongue, diarrhea, shakiness, trouble sleeping, and vomiting, among many others.
The problem with this ‘magic’ drink is that they are being promoted as all-natural energy boosters loaded with exotic ingredients, but as you probably know, they will tell you anything you want to hear to buy their product. Energy drinks have cool logo colors and fonts, modern can or bottle shapes, and striking surroundings, nothing else but excellent marketing.

Concerns over the potentially harmful effects of energy drinks, especially when they’re combined with alcohol, have been growing in recent years, it has been linked with heart problems, risk of miscarriage, an increased risk of alcohol injury and dependence, risk of drug abuse, and impaired cognition, just for starters. So, should you let your kids drink them? What do you think?
