7 Effects of Soda

The bad effects of having soda is not only due to its high sugar content and high calories. Even diet soda causes many harms to our body. Soda contains some ingredients that have different known and unknown effects. As an example of these weird effects, a new Danish research shows that drinking non-diet soda builds up fat around the liver and skeletal muscles, which eventually leads to insulin resistance and diabetes. This research also shows that having only one soda a day for six month, causes 30 percent increase in blood triglyceride and 11 percent increase in blood cholesterol, which is really a big deal!

  1. I am a tad sceptical about the research showing that just one soda a day for 6 months has those terrible effects on blood triglyceride and blood cholesterol. It would require one group of volunteers to have exactly the same food daily for 6 months without the soda and another group to have exactly the same food daily for 6 months with the one soda. Without this comparison how could we attribute the changes in blood chemistry solely to the single daily soda? I have no doubt most if not all sodas have no good in them and quite possibly a fair bit of harm but pseudo scientific claims won't help educate people to nourish their bodies better.
