Warrior Princess

I used to get tired of always being the strong woman, of carrying so much weight on my shoulders, and then I realized I am the Warrior Princess and it is my destiny to carry the problems of others. Once I realized I was fulfilling my own destiny the weight became much easier to bear.

I have always been the one to get sobbing phone calls, but honestly, I would be sad if someone else got the “fix-it” calls. I am like a turtle, I plod along with all my cares and those of others on my back, or a horse, who carries heavy burdens with grace and dignity.

I don’t feel sorry for myself, no matter what, I can always pick myself back up. I am strong, I am invincible, I am able to fix a booboo with a kiss and scare monsters out from under beds. I can fix a meal for 5-6 people with almost no groceries in the house. I can teach small children to tie shoes and say ABC’s.

I earned every line on my face, every gray hair on my head, and every scar on my body, and I love them all, they all tell a story of a brave woman who survived terrible odds, who laughed too loud and loved too much and who never ever gave up.

I am a warrior, I will protect what’s mine, and I am a princess, because I look darn good while doing it. I am proud of who I have grown into, and excited to see who I grow into next.
