Homemade Tick Repellent

We all know how annoying ticks can be, they feed off the blood of mammals, and can carry and transfer bacteria and disease such as Lyme disease.
Even though some retail products are designed to repel ticks, there are other natural ways in which you don’t have to spend a lot of money on a high-priced chemical, and you can do it easily at home.

PETS

For pets spray twice or more onto dry coat daily, making sure it does not go into his sensitive areas such as mouth, eyes, nose, and genitals. Put together in a spray bottle:
• 1 cup water
• 2 cups distilled white vinegar
• 2 teaspoons vegetable or almond oil

Ticks hate the smell and taste of vinegar, and will be easily be repelled by this ingredient alone. The vegetable or almond oil contains sulfur, which is another natural tick repellent.
To make a repellent that will also deter fleas: mix in a few teaspoons lemon juice, citrus oil, or peppermint oil, all repel ticks and fleas while also creating a scented repellent.
