Melt Away Your Muffin Top

Three waist-whittling moves

Muffin tops are a problem spot for many people, try the following exercises that take no longer than 20 minutes a day to get rid of any muffin top that’s making you wary of ditching your cozy winter layers! Remember, cardio helps but food is 85 percent of the results we see.

1- Side Bends

100 repetitions, Alternate sides/ 50 each side.

Stand with your feet hip-distance apart, arms at your sides. As you reach down towards your toes with one arm, lift the other one up towards your waist, placing your hand on your hip. You can also use dumbbells as is shown below:

2- Standing Twists

100 repetitions

Place your hands behind your head, elbows out wide and knees slightly bent. Isolate your core making sure your hips don’t move. Twist to one side then the other alternating sides. Another option is to try “Standing Oblique Twists” which is good for abdominal oblique muscles:

3- Jack Knife Sit Ups

40 repetitions
Lay on the floor with your legs straight out, arms stretched above your head, toes pointed towards the ceiling, the raise your arms towards your toes as you raise your legs to a 45 degree angle, keeping your shoulders off the floor. You should bring your arms way up over your belly button and return back to the floor or bench with your legs and arms stretched out.
