Essential Water

Water is extremely essential to the human body’s survival. A person can live for about a month without food, but can only survive a week without water.

Water helps maintain healthy body weight by increasing metabolism and regulating appetite, it also helps increase energy levels. The most common cause of daytime fatigue is actually mild dehydration.

Drinking a good amount of water can decrease the risk of certain types of cancers, including colon cancer, bladder cancer, and breast cancer. It helps with your overall health by flushing out waste and bacteria that can cause all sorts of diseases. Water helps significantly with joint and back pain, alleviates headaches, moisturizes the skin (makes skin glow), prevents constipation and helps with the bodies circulation.

How much water should you drink? when should you drink water?

– It is advised to drink around two to four glasses of water after waking up.

– If you work in an air-conditioned environment and follow a sedentary lifestyle, do not drink more than 2 to 2.5 liters of water per day  (it will end up accumulating in your kidney and causing edema).

– For moderate  workers, for instance salespersons, it is important to drink around three liters of water a day.

– During the summer, keep yourself hydrated by drinking water at regular intervals.

In addition to being an important part of the fluids in your body, each cell depends on water to function normally.

Can You Drink Too Much Water?

It’s rare, but yes. As much as you need water, it is possible to get too much. Having too much water in your system in relation to sodium is called hyponatremia, and it’s not actually from too much water as much as it is from an imbalance between water and electrolytes.
