Cranberries, the Real Stuff

Cranberries, the Real Stuff

Ditch the canned cranberry sauce! It’s full of sugars, high fructose corn syrup, and other chemicals. Fresh cranberries are full of Vitamin C, natural anti-inflammatories, and antioxidants, and are very easy to prepare.

I like fresh cranberry relish, very easy with a food processor. Wash and sort your cranberries, and 2 or 3 oranges, cut your oranges into 1/4’s, rinds and all, run it all through your food processor a bit at a time, add raw sugar or apple juice to taste. This also makes amazing turkey sandwiches!

You can also mix your cranberries with 4 Tbsp. pure honey, 2 tsp. lemon juice, 1/2 tsp. ground cinnamon and 2 medium apples, cut up, run this through a food processor as well.

Stick to fresh cranberries whenever possible, dried cranberries often have a lot of sugar. These recipes are beautiful, homemade, and because they are raw preserve all their natural nutrition. Happy Holidays!
