PosMed Yeast Fast: Meal Ideas

I know that this fast seems pretty strict, honestly, I hope I can do it myself! I thought it might be helpful if we posted a few ideas for what you CAN eat, remember these are just ideas, eat what you want, within the guidelines of course!

Breakfast

oatmeal with berries, nuts, honey

eggs, scrambled with vegetables or alone

yogurt and fruit (try to avoid ones with sugar)

Lunch or Dinner

green salad with veggies, lean protein, and oil and vinegar

baked chicken breast with brown rice and vegetables

baked chicken breast with baked sweet potatoes and steamed green beans

baked fish and steamed broccoli, baked potato with salsa

homemade beef stew

horseradish roast beef with skinny mashed potatoes and carrots

Snacks

yogurt and fruit

kefir

miso soup

raw vegetables and hummus

apple slices with cinnamon

apple slices or celery sticks with 1 tbsp nut butter (no sugar added, preferably)

popcorn

Tips

Drink lots of water, your body will be going through a detox period and you need it, aim for 12 8 oz. glasses a day

Try salsa as a salad dressing and on top of your baked potato, it’s really delicious

You can eat unlimited vegetables except corn and potatoes, limit those to 1-2 servings/day

Try plain Greek yogurt on potatoes

Try quinoa rather than oatmeal, protein is good in the morning. Also, for a meatless dish I like quinoa with broccoli, tomatoes, and carrots with seasonings

Use unlimited herbs and spices, get creative, try new things,I have been using crushed red peppers sprinkled on popcorn and really like it, also try cinnamon or nutmeg in your tea or coffee instead of sweetener, I have been putting allspice in with my coffee grounds and it’s delicious. I will make Mama’s rice one day next week and take pictures so I can share that recipe, it’s kind of an evolved creation of my own.

Good luck, remember we are all in this together, if I can do it, anyone can!!
