Johanna Quaas, 86, can still rock the gymnastics floor and parallel bars as well as a tight fitting leotard!!!

Quaas set a world record while the younger competitors took a break between rounds of competition her floor exercise routine included cartwheels, handstands and somersaults. And in front of a cheering crowd, she executed a full “planche” on the parallel bars raising her outstretched body parallel with the ground, supported by just her arms. The former sports teacher says she now does gymnastics “just for fun” and that she has stopped participating in regular competitions. Maybe it’s because she hardly has any competition in her age group. The only athletes in her senior category are in their mid-70s.

In the video below you can watch her doing a headstand, handstand, cartwheel, and forward and backward rolls.

If you want to stay healthy and fit in your senior age and you’re looking for inspiration, 86-year old Johanna Quaas is an awesome example! She practices gymnastics everyday and she even has won 11 medals in the German senior gymnastics competitions.

Watch these videos showing her in “Turnier Der Meister” Cottbus 2012 competitions:
