Belly Dance

Belly dancing, also called Raks Sharki, is derived from traditional women’s dances of the Middle East and North Africa. Belly dance has enormous positive effects on the human body. Belly dancers can have any type of body and it’s beneficial for those who love to dance, but doesn’t have the confidence to practice other forms of dance.
The belly dancer utilizes muscles in her abdomen, pelvis, spine, and neck and moves each independently in a completely feminine interpretation of the music. So belly dance is like an internal massage for all internal organs and many health benefits are the outcome of this internal massage.
Here are some examples of the wealth of health benefits awaiting those who practice belly dance:

  • Improved posture and muscle toning
  • Weight loss
  • Improved self-image
  • Stress-reduction
  • Preparation for childbirth
