Who needs to limit salt?

Americans eat on average about 3,300 mg of sodium a day. It’s recommended to limit sodium consumption to less than 2,300 mg a day, and about 6 in 10 adults should further limit the sodium consumption to 1,500 mg per day.

According to CDC, people who should limit their sodium to 1,500 mg a day are:
People who are 51 years or older
African Americans
People with high blood pressure
People with diabetes
People with chronic kidney disease
